What is Propylene Glycol?

PG stands for Propylene Glycol, while VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin. Both are compounds that are added to e-liquid to enhance its attributes. Along with Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin, e-liquid sometimes also includes nicotine, distilled water and flavouring depending on the flavour you’re vaping. Propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine may lead to lung inflammation. Researchers have found that using e-cigarettes with the e-liquid refills containing propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) may lead to inflammation of the lungs over a period of time.

What is Vegetable Glycol?

VG (Vegetable Glycerine) is a derivative of vegetable oil, and is also recognised as a safe substance for ingestion. What is Sub-Ohm Vaping?

Sub-ohming is vaping on a device where the atomiser coil has a resistance of less than 1.0 ohm. The reason some advanced vapers ‘sub-ohm’ is to increase the power output from their devices, creating more vapour and flavour from their e-liquid. Sub-ohm vaping has become popular because people love to blow huge vapour clouds. Creating a room-filling vapour cloud requires an atomizer coil with high surface area, and creating a coil with high surface area requires thick low-resistance heating wire.


It matters because today almost all aspects of vaping are ‘designed’ around one style or the other. A MTL tank will have been designed to work for people who inhale in a MTL style. A DTL tank has been designed to work for people who use a DTL style.
